Dr. Storch prides himself on spending a vast amount of time getting to know each patient. He expresses immense interest in evaluating a patient’s history, physiology, and lifestyle that can lead to chronic illness. Each individual’s unique genetic makeup is taken into consideration, along with internal (mind, body, and spirit) and external (physical, lifestyle, and social environment) factors that can affect overall functional health.
All disease starts in the gut, and without taking the gut into account, no autoimmunity and inflammation processes can’t be addressed at the root cause. Dr. Storch’s expertise in nutritional and metabolic medicine allows him to truly explore digestive health and to optimize your gut environment once and for all.

About Advanced Metabolic & Functional Medicine
Advanced Metabolic & Functional Medicine (Formerly Storch Nutritional Medicine Associates) was founded more than 15 years ago by Dr. Kenneth Storch, a nutritional and metabolic medicine specialist with more than 30 years of medical experience. Drawing on the various treatment modalities he encountered throughout his career, Dr. Storch focused his practice on providing gastrointestinal health based on nutritional & metabolic processes. As all disease starts in our gut, Dr. Storch is uniquely qualified to utilize a root cause approach in transforming overall health.
Since its inception, our care team has empowered thousands of patients to take charge of their health and resolve many chronic conditions such as metabolic syndrome, IBS, Crohn’s, colitis, thyroid conditions, adrenal/hormonal imbalances, and many autoimmune-related conditions.
About Kenneth Storch, MD, PhD
Kenneth J. Storch, MD, PhD is the Medical Director of the Center for Advanced Metabolic & Functional Medicine (Formerly Storch Nutritional Medicine Associates) in Florham Park, NJ. He has held previous positions such as the Medical Director of the Metabolic Medicine Department of Overlook Hospital as well as The President of the American Board of Nutrition Specialists. He has also been an assistant professor of medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, NY.
Dr. Storch earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and then received his medical degree (M.D.) at the State University of New York at Brooklyn and doctorate in nutritional biochemistry (PhD) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T) in Cambridge, Mass.
He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at The Staten Island University Hospital and his Nutrition and Cancer Fellowship at the Beth Israel – Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Dr. Storch is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Medical Nutrition.
Dr. Storch is a fellow of the American College of Nutrition and a member of the American College of Physicians and the Obesity Society. He is a regional and national leader in therapeutic Medical Nutrition actively caring for outpatients at the center and inpatients at teaching hospitals.
Dr. Storch has been a principle investigator or co-investigator in several key clinical trials, as well as an invited presenter at numerous medical conferences, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Storch also served as a NASA Medical Nutrition Expert at Johnson Space Center.
With decades of experience in nutrition & metabolics and a more recent discovery of Functional Medicine, Dr. Storch is uniquely qualified to help his patients reach optimal & sustainable levels of health & vitality.
His personal interests include Astronomy, Tennis, Cycling, Computers, The Newest Technology, Japanese Language & Culture, and Exploring the Universe with those he loves.
